Initial Visit – To cure a rash
I went to the Dr. about three weeks ago. The reason was, I had a rash that broke out on my body, mostly on my legs and thighs. This was most likely caused by a reaction to Terbinafine, which is the generic to Lamisil. Both are antifungal medications. These are supposed to cure jock itch, athletes foot, toenail fungus and ringworm.
The Dr. prescribed a medication for itching and rashes caused by side effects from other drugs. I don’t remember the name of the drug, but it’s the one in which you take 6 the first day, 5 the second day, and so on, until you get to the sixth day, on which you take the last pill.
About 15 years ago, this same medication cured the same rash caused by an allergic reaction to a medication the Dr. gave me for the flu. Unfortunately, it didn’t work this time.
Follow up visit – You might be pregnant?
Since the rash did not go away, I went back to the Dr. He wanted to run some skin tests to see what was causing the rash.
One of the tests he wanted to run was a pregnancy test. I said to him, “Come on man! What are you doing? Are you crazy?”
He said, “I might as well run as many tests as I can. Relax, you don’t have to pay it. Blue Cross will pay it.”
Have you even wondered why Health Care is so expensive?
Doctors have a built in cash cow. They will run every test imaginable, because they know for sure they’ll be paid. Their cash cow is known as Blue Cross.
By the way, there are two more parts to this story. First, I refused to allow the Dr. to perform this test. He may have been joking when he said he was going to run the test, but he sounded pretty serious to me. When it comes to money, some people tend to be very serious.
Second, the rash was cured. Would you like to take a wild guess what the miracle drug that cured it was?
Apple Cider Vinegar!
