Earthquake that rocked Italy made me think
After I read the news about the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that leveled Italy, it started to make me think. At first, I didn’t think that much about what I’m about to tell you. Then, the more I though about it, the more it blew my mind.
Around 1917, all of my grandparents immigrated to the United States from Italy, and from a place that is very close to where the earthquake occurred. If not for immigration, I’d still be in Italy, not that I would mind it. But when a massive earthquake shakes the country, where I could be living this very day, I darned well do mind it.
It’s great to be alive. Don’t ever take this for granted.
