Last week, my lovely wife came up to me and said that she wanted to get a tatoo. At first, I was surprised. Then, I laughed, on the inside. I did not want her to know that I was laughing about her decision. Then, I decided that I did not particularly like the idea.
Even though I did not like her decision, I did not let her know it. Then, I started thinking. She is my wife. We have a wonderful marriage. If she wanted to get a tatoo, it was my role to support her. It is not my place to tell her not to get a tatoo. It is a wife or husband’s place to love, honor and cherish the other. A wife should never be expected to obey her husband, just as a husband should never be expected to obey his wife. However, there is one exception to this rule. Whenever there is a situation involving life and death, then one should be expected to obey his or her spouse.
Well, sure enough, she did get the tatoo – a lovely rose.
I keep telling my wife that I have one reason for breathing – HER!
Well, make that three reasons. I love our two Boston Terriers.
Just joking, Darling. I love all three of you with all my heart. But I love you in a different way. But you have to admit, they are adorable. They bring us a lot of pleasure.
