Professional pitchman, Kevin Trudeau, was sentenced to 10 years in Federal Prison. In spite of this, I kind of like the guy, personally.
Kevin Trudeau seems like a cool guy
Naturally, this is the nature of a professional pitchman. To sell his customer, he has to come across as a nice guy. I have no problem with this. Kevin Trudeau is someone I’d like to have a couple of beers with, and just shoot the breeze. As long a I don’t have to do business with him, we could get along just fine. However, like so many professional pitch men, he would have to kept within an arm’s length. Otherwise, he would bite it off like an alligator.
Kevin Trudeau not the first late night pitchman to get into hot water
Something about those late night pitchmen on the infomercials makes them very vulnerable. At least four other late night gurus of the past suffered severe consequences for allegedly defrauding the public.
Charles Givens, author of two bestselling books, was sued, and ordered to refund $14.1 million dollars to his customers.
I doubt very seriously if Kevin Trudeau will commit suicide. He is currently doing time at the Federal Prison Camp at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. This is one of the places where the government sends white collar criminals. I once knew a former Health South executive who did 3 years there. According to him, the place was almost like a Country Club.
Trudeau is scheduled to be released on July 18, 2022. My guess is, he has talked to many other inmates about going into business together upon their release.
Even in prison, a pitchman is still a pitchman.
