I’ve never understood the logic of giving the dead a moment of silence, to show respect. Why should there be silence. The guy is dead. He’s not going to wake up. It seems more logical that it would be more respectful to the dead by giving them a moment of cheering and celebration. Cheering would symbolize that the guy had a good life and made people happy. Celebration would symbolize the celebration of the life of a person who was very popular.
